The boy who wanted to eat nothing but pancakes and PBJ sandwiches now eats like a "normal" toddler. He (and Ella) eat what is served (unless it is too spicy). Tonight he and Ella INHALED pasta marinera (as you can see). Night before last he ate two servings of broccoli. He eats raw veggies and fruit every day. In fact, he knows where the apples are and he wants to carry one around eating it. He doesn't freak out in a restaurant anymore and cause everyone to stare. We ate Thai food in New Mexico during the holidays and he was eating off of everyone's plates.
This, to me, is a miracle. I'd like to thank our Lord, his occupational therapist (who takes ZERO crap off of my kids), and my hubby for realizing that if he didn't eat what he was served, he would not die of starvation and it would be okay. And guess what? It was. He did/does have food aversion issues but part of the aversion was learned...meaning he figured out if he threw a fit at meal time and refused to eat he got carbs. Well, no longer. His OT encouraged me (to encourage Daddy) that he needed some tough love. She is NO NONSENSE and I love her for it. She's helped his sensory integration problems TREMENDOUSLY (!!!!!!!!) over the past year and she is a Godsend.
And then there is Ella....
Ella didn't get as messy tonight. But, Lord, she is a real poser. I pulled out the camera and said, "Ella..." and she cranked her head to the side and smiled. She is hysterical! She has figured out how to make everyone laugh and boy does she play it up! She such a CUTIE! I could eat her up. She is such a doll.
I'm still trying to upload photos from the past 2 months. It feels REALLY overwhelming right now. But I'll keep muddling through it.
Blessings!
