Peeeeschooooo

This week my heart and soul waddled into the local preschool for children with disabilities (PPCD). Sigh.

He jumped over the cracks in the sidewalk, as we always do, as we walked in.

He could barely be contained in the reception area while we waited for someone to escort us to his classroom. By that, I mean my hubby and I took turns physically holding him as he tried to pull us, which typically takes digging my heel into the floor like I am in a tug of war.

As we walked down the hall, he waved at all the "teee chaaas" and kids. He put his hand on the colored tiles on the wall and labeled them by color. He almost fell a half a dozen times because we are making him wear shoes, against his better judgement.

And then we made it to his classroom. Sigh. His teacher showed him his locker...his LOCKER people! She showed him where he will take off his "pack pack" and jacket and hat and place them before sitting on the floor.

She showed him how to hold on the preschool hand/holding rope. He chose the orange ring.

He went in the classroom and took it over. His dad and I ceased to exist.

I hugged him goodbye and asked for a kiss.

His dad started walking down the hall bawling his eyes out. He couldn't take saying goodbye.

Sigh. Our little stunt man turned three and is grown up on us.

This week "peeeschoooo" and next week...

Sorry. I'm crying. I don't want to talk about that.

Fly, little bird, fly. Anything is possible if you persevere!
